Open Enrollment Begins For Healthfirst Leaf Plans On New York State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace
NEW YORK, NY – October 1, 2013 – Open enrollment begins today for Healthfirst Leaf Plans, Healthfirst’s Qualified Health Plans available through New York State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace. Starting today, New Yorkers can log into www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov to enroll in Healthfirst Leaf Plans. Coverage starts as early as January 1, 2014. New York State of Health is mainly for people who are under 65, live in New York, are uninsured or underinsured, and don’t receive health insurance through their employer. New Yorkers can also get public health insurance – Medicaid and Child Health Plus – through the Marketplace.
October 1st is the national launch date of all health benefit exchanges throughout the country. New York State of Health serves as the main portal for individuals and small business owners to shop for and buy health plans. Healthfirst Leaf Plans include Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Leaf plans that cover preventive health needs, including doctor’s visits, hospital stays, emergency care, maternity, and more. In addition, the Healthfirst Green Leaf Plan offers individuals under 30 years old Catastrophic coverage against unexpected illness or events.
