NJ.com - Trinitas Health Foundation announces honorees for its annual gala
The Trinitas Health Foundation is planning its annual spring fundraiser, “The Champions of Care,” scheduled for May 3 at The Venetian in Garfield. NJ Burkett, Channel 7 WABC national and international broadcast journalist, Elizabeth native, and long-time Trinitas friend and supporter, will again be the gala’s Master of Ceremonies. Proceeds from the event will benefit Trinitas Regional Medical Center and the patients it serves in Elizabeth and the wider Central New Jersey region.
The Gala’s Celebrating Philanthropy award will go to honoree Diversified Clinical Services, Inc. (DCS), which manages the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. Healthfirst NJ, a not-for-profit health plan that partners with hospitals throughout New Jersey, is the 2012 Humanitarian Award Honoree.
The gala is expected to draw more than 500 guests. A silent auction, raffles, dining and dancing will be part of the evening. New this year will be entertainment by the Motor City Revue that will perform high energy renditions of Motown favorites as well as other current and popular music standards.
Co-chairs of the 2012 Gala are Springfield resident Leon Pirak, MD, Chief of Anesthesiology at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Manalapan resident Eli Kramer, Trinitas Health Foundation Trustee, who leads the Gala ad journal efforts, as well as Foundation Trustees Catherine J. Gary S. Horan, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, expresses high praise for Diversified Clinical Services.
“With a success rate among the highest in the nation in wound healing, DCS has helped us work treatment wonders for many of our patients. Our Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine has shown a 95% heal rate in an average of 29 days for our patients and we’re very proud of those numbers.”
DCS has recognized The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Trinitas with its Robert Warriner III, MD, “Center of Excellence” Award.
“We’re proud of the fact that our Center has exceeded DCS’s benchmarks in healing outcomes, patient satisfaction, outlier management and clinical performance,” Horan sums up.
As an insurance partner with Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Humanitarian Award winner Healthfirst NJ provides affordable, quality care for the communities it serves and improves the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. “Our relationship with Healthfirst NJ has been extremely beneficial for many of our patients,” said Horan, adding, “The coverage Healthfirst NJ provides has made a tremendous difference to patients who come to us for both inpatient care and outpatient services.”
“Each year, the Trinitas Health Foundation Gala has been blessed with support from so many corporations, organizations and individuals,” explains Nadine Brechner, Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of the Trinitas Health Foundation. “In these challenging economic times, we appreciate the generosity of our many long-time benefactors. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to bring the level of treatment and state-of-the-art technology to the patients we serve. We also welcome new benefactors who wish to join our philanthropic efforts. We are always looking to expand our team of supporters.”
Funds raised at past galas have benefitted a wide range of programs at Trinitas, including the purchase of new operating room equipment, the Pediatric Health Center, the Medical Mentoring program for high school students, and funding for the construction of the Center for Regional Education (CORE).
