Healthfirst Sponsors the 45th Annual West Indian Day Carnival in Brooklyn
Healthfirst is sponsoring the 45th Annual West Indian Day Carnival in Brooklyn this September 1-3. Held every Labor Day weekend, the Carnival festivities take over Eastern Parkway and the Brooklyn Museum area with family-friendly activities throughout the five days.
Hosted by the West Indian/American Day Carnival Association, Inc. (WIADCA), the festivities include a Healthfirst-sponsored Kiddie’s Carnival on Saturday, September 1. This is the premier children’s parade where children in colorful, vibrant costumes march down to the Brooklyn Museum and a parade king and queen are announced.
The weekend culminates with the Labor Day Carnival Parade on Monday, September 3. This parade draws over 8,000 participants who march and dance down Eastern Parkway with floats, costumes, and authentic Caribbean garb reflecting West Indian culture and heritage. Don’t miss the Healthfirst RV driving down this year’s parade route! Festivities begin at 12 noon at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Utica Avenue.
