NEW YORK, NY,February 23, 2012 – Healthfirst, a not-for-profit managed care organization that offers low or no-cost health insurance, announced its partnership today with Medagate Corporation using their OTCNetwork™ Card Plan benefit. The pre-paid card offers Healthfirst Medicare Advantage members a convenient solution for purchasing over-the-counter (OTC) items at leading retailers and easy access to their self-care benefits.
The benefit card is an effective alternative for Medicare Advantage members, allowing them to save money instead of having to pay out-of-pocket for OTC products then seek reimbursement for their purchase. It also provides in-store pickup of items versus ordering online which can take up one week for delivery. The card has a monthly limit and is accepted at local retail pharmacies including CVS, Duane Reade, Rite Aid and Walgreens. It is also accepted at Family Dollar and Dollar General stores.
