BROOKLYN, NY, September 7, 2012 – Healthfirst and the New York Red Bulls Academy partner to hold a special youth soccer clinic at Prospect Park Parade Ground in Brooklyn on Sunday, September 16from 10:00am - 12 noon (Coney Island Ave. between Caton and Parkside Avenues). Made possible through a Healthfirst sponsorship of Red Bull Arena for the 2012 season, the clinic will offer 75 children, ages 6-14, the unique opportunity to meet and interact with professional trainers from the New York Red Bulls Academy to learn about the sport of soccer.

“This partnership with the New York Red Bulls enables Healthfirst to extend our reach in the communities we serve, and offer resources that help promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle,” said Pat Wang, Healthfirst President and CEO. “Programs like these engage children in healthy activities and help them to achieve their full potential.”

The New York Red Bulls Academy aspires to help develop the best youth talent in the Tri-State area, assisting in cultivating future professional stars of the New York Red Bulls soccer league. Kids chosen to participate in the clinic will receive two-hours of personalized instruction from the Academy trainers, learning game strategies and rules, aspects of teamwork, and other soccer techniques that encourage pro-social skills to empower them in making more positive life choices. The clinic is a one-time event and free of charge.

“Our academy is excited to work with eager and talented young players in the community. It is our hope that we can help motivate them to pursue a healthy lifestyle playing the ‘beautiful game’”, said Bob Montgomery, Red Bulls Academy Director.
