Healthfirst and Elmhurst Hospital Center Co-Host Cinco de Mayo Street Fair
QUEENS, NY, May 1, 2013 – Healthfirst and Elmhurst Hospital Center will be co-hosting the Cinco de Mayo Street Fair at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens on Friday, May 3rd from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. The hospital is located at 79-01 Broadway, Elmhurst, New York 11373.
Community residents are invited to bring their families and celebrate the Cinco de Mayo festivities featuring a live mariachi band, face painting for kids, the Sarah Ortiz Trio (a local singing group) and giveaways (while supplies last). A special Community Service Award presentation will be made to honoree, Martha Zambrano, Executive Director of Ecuadorian International Center.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the French-Mexican War. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
