Family Health Plus - Program Summary

Not qualified for Medicaid? You may still be able to apply for Family Health Plus.

If you are an adult age 19 to 64 years old with income too high to qualify for Medicaid, you may be eligible for Family Health Plus, a New York State sponsored health insurance program. Family Health Plus is available to single adults, couples without children, and parents who are residents of New York State and who have limited income. You must also be a United States citizen or fall under one of many immigration categories to apply for Family Health Plus. If you have health insurance
through a federal benefit plan, you are not eligible for Family Health Plus.

Family Health Plus provides coverage for:

  • Checkups
  • Hospital stays
  • Emergency care
  • Medicines
  • And other health services

How much does Family Health Plus cost?
There are NO monthly premiums for Family Health Plus. Some services may require a copayment.
